Add 2 or more PDFs · up to 100 MB total

This tool runs entirely in your browser — your files are processed locally and are never uploaded to a server. You can even disconnect from the internet after the page loads.

How to merge PDF files

Four steps to one combined document.

  1. Add two or more PDFs

Drop the files onto the zone or click “Browse files”. You can keep adding with the “Add more” button.

  2. Set the order

Drag the entries in the list — or use the arrow buttons — until the documents are in the order you want. Remove anything added by mistake.

  3. Merge

Click “Merge PDFs”. The pages are copied in exactly the order shown in the list.

  4. Download the result

Click “Download merged PDF” to save the combined document.

What this tool does

Merging copies every page of your input PDFs — in the order you arrange — into a single new document using the pdf-lib library. Nothing is re-rendered or recompressed: each page is transferred as-is, so text stays selectable and image quality is identical to the originals.

This makes the tool ideal whenever a document exists in pieces: chapters exported separately, a form plus its attachments, or a scan produced one file per page by a scanner app. The merged file opens in any PDF reader exactly like a document that was born whole.

The merge happens entirely in your browser tab. There is no upload, no queue and no daily limit — your device simply reads the files and writes the combined one.

Key features

Drag-and-drop ordering

Rearrange the file list by dragging, or use the arrow buttons for precise keyboard-friendly control. Pages follow the list order exactly.

Lossless page copy

Pages are copied, not re-rendered — text, vector graphics and image quality survive untouched.

Completely local

Merging runs in your browser with a self-hosted library. Confidential documents never leave your device.

No artificial caps

Merge as many PDFs as fit in memory, up to 100 MB of input in total — comfortably dozens of typical documents.

Add and remove freely

Forgot a file? Use “Add more” without starting over. Remove individual files with one click.

Mobile friendly

The list, buttons and drop zone adapt to touch screens, so merging works on a phone as well as a desktop.

Supported formats and limits

Input: two or more PDF files, up to 100 MB combined.

Output: one merged PDF containing every page in the order you set.

  • Pages keep their original size and orientation — mixed A4 and Letter, portrait and landscape, coexist fine.
  • Password-protected PDFs cannot be opened; remove the password before merging.
  • Interactive form fields and outlines (bookmarks) may be simplified by the copy process.

Practical use cases

  • Application packets — combine a cover letter, CV and certificates into the single PDF most portals ask for.
  • Scanned documents — join the one-file-per-page output of a scanner app into a single document.
  • Reports with attachments — put the main report first and append appendices, invoices or reference material after it.
  • Monthly records — merge statements or receipts into one file per month or project for tidy archiving.
  • Combining exports — join chapters or sections that different tools exported as separate PDFs.

Limitations and notes

  • Encrypted (password-protected) PDFs cannot be read by the browser library — unlock them first.
  • Form fields, bookmarks and embedded attachments may not survive the copy; the visible page content always does.
  • The combined file is held in memory while it is built, so extremely large merges are smoothest on a desktop.
  • Merging does not compress: the output is roughly the sum of its parts. Use the PDF Compressor afterwards if the result is too big.

Frequently asked questions

In what order are the pages merged?

Exactly the order shown in the list. Drag files or use the arrow buttons to rearrange them before merging.

Are bookmarks, forms or passwords preserved?

Pages are copied as they are, including their content. Interactive form fields and outlines may be simplified by the copy process. Password-protected PDFs cannot be opened — remove the password first.

Is there a file limit?

You can merge as many PDFs as fit in memory, up to 100 MB of input in total. That comfortably covers dozens of typical documents.

Do my files get uploaded?

No. Merging uses the self-hosted pdf-lib library inside your browser. Nothing is transmitted.

Can I mix different page sizes and orientations?

Yes. Each page keeps its own size and rotation — a portrait A4 report and a landscape Letter spreadsheet merge without any cropping or rescaling.

Will the merged PDF lose quality?

No. Pages are copied losslessly rather than re-rendered, so text, images and vector graphics are exactly as sharp as in the source files.

Can I add another file after arranging the list?

Yes — the “Add more” button appends new files to the end of the list without disturbing the order you already set. Drag the new arrivals into place and merge.

The merged file is too large. What now?

Merging preserves every page as-is, so sizes add up. Run the result through the PDF Compressor — Medium level works well for scan-heavy documents.
